Vedic compatibility is judged mainly from Moon signs and nakshatras. Of the 36 Ashtakoot points, 12 — Graha Maitri (5) and Bhakoot (7) — depend only on the two Moon signs; the other 24 need each person’s nakshatra. So sign compatibility is a useful starting point, not the full answer.
